FMDM Sisters were invited in 1959 to establish a hospital in Bendigo and in 1961 to open a school in Nathalia, Victoria
There are currently 4 communities of FMDM sisters in Australia. Sisters in the 2 Bendigo Communities minister in the hospital and parish. Sisters living in the 2 Melbourne communities of Dallas and Kielor Downs are engaged in prison ministry, parish work, university and school chaplaincy, as well as collaborating with other religious in ministry to trafficked women and children.
