Ladywell
Ladywell is the Motherhouse of the Congregation. It is situated in the beautiful Surrey countryside close to Guildford and is 'home' to all our sisters around the world. Our mission statement captures the essence of Ladywell:
"In Ladywell we seek to create a hospitable Franciscan place with a peaceful atmosphere, rooted in Gospel values, which nurtures life for everyone."
At Ladywell we find:
St Clare’s community is the Motherhouse community offering hospitality for returning Missionaries and Visitors. All our visitors are welcome to join us for meals and community prayer and daily Eucharist
The Vocations Office for England and Scotland is situated in Ladywell and the Vocations Director,Sr Oneng Mendoza (onengmendoza.fmdm @ yahoo.co.uk) is a member of St Clare’s community. Click here to view our vocations page.
Ladywell Retreat Centre providing a space for hundreds of people each year to take some time for prayer, reflection and personal growth. The Retreat Centre has 24 single and 2 double rooms, spacious grounds and sacred spaces with various events programmed throughout the year and is available for groups to use for their own activities. La Verna community is the home for our elderly sisters and those fmdm sisters who support them. The ministry of La Verna is that of prayer - prayer for others and for the world. Thus we say that La Verna and our other elderly communities around the world are powerhouses of prayer for all of us.
St Francis Community is the home of our Congregational Leadership Team.
